Privacy Policy

Adeleye Ifá Academy ("we", "our", "us") operates the Adeleye Ifá Academy mobile application and website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password (encrypted) and date of birth. We ask for the date of birth only to confirm that you are old enough to have an account (see section 8).

Contact Phone: A phone number is required to create a new account, and you give it when you register. We store it in international format together with the country you picked. You can change it, or remove it, at any time from your account. Accounts created before this requirement are not affected: we invite you to add one and you may decline.

Notice Preferences and Their Record: Which notices you have asked for, per channel (WhatsApp, email) and purpose (classes, academy news). For each choice we also keep a record of when you made it, whether it came from the app or the website, in which language, and under which version of our texts — so that what was agreed, and when, can be established later.

Profile Information: You may optionally provide a profile photo.

Payment Information: When you subscribe or make a purchase, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers. Stripe may collect billing details as described in their privacy policy.

Usage Data: We collect information about your lesson progress, course access, and app interactions to provide personalized learning experiences.

Device Information: We may collect device identifiers for security purposes (device binding and session management).

Community Messages: Messages you send in community chats are stored on our servers.

Analytics Data (only with your consent): If you accept analytics on the website, we use Google Analytics to collect aggregate information about visits: pages viewed, the purchase path, device type, browser, language, and approximate location (country, region and an estimated city derived from the connection). We never request GPS access, never store your exact address, and the measurement contains no names, emails or card data. If you decline, none of this is collected.

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Track your learning progress
• Send you important notifications about your account, your purchases and your security — these are part of the Service and do not depend on any preference
• Send you the class, event and academy-news notices you have specifically asked for, on the channels you chose, and only those
• Provide customer support
• Enforce our Terms of Service
• Understand, in aggregate and only with your consent, how the website is visited and where the purchase path breaks — to improve the content and the offering. This is never used for advertising or to build a profile of you

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions
• Stripe: Payment processing
• Expo: App distribution and push notifications
• Meta Platforms, Inc. (WhatsApp Business Platform): delivery of WhatsApp notices. Your phone number is sent to Meta only when a notice you asked for is actually delivered to you
• Our email provider: delivery of email notices
• Google Analytics: Aggregate measurement of website visits — only if you accept analytics; advertising features are disabled

We do not sell your phone number or your email address, and we do not share them with anyone for their own marketing.Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication (Firebase Auth), encrypted passwords, and screen capture protection for course content.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your data
• Opt out of non-essential communications
• Withdraw any notice consent at any time, channel by channel, and remove your phone number entirely

Notice preferences and your phone number live in My account › Settings on the website and in Profile › Phone and notices in the app. Every news or notice email includes a link to unsubscribe in one step, without signing in; receipts and account emails (such as a password reset) keep arriving because you need them to use your account. You can delete your account from the Profile section in the app; deleting the account deletes your phone number and your preferences with it.

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We ask for a date of birth when an account is created and we do not create accounts for anyone under 13; in that case we do not store the date or any other data. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date.

The website uses your browser's own storage to keep your session working and to remember the language you choose. These are necessary for the site to function and are not used to track you.

Analytics cookies (from Google Analytics, names starting with _ga) are set only if you accept them in the consent banner. They help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is visited. We do not use advertising cookies or ad personalization.

You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookies" link in the website footer. If you decline or withdraw consent, the analytics script does not load and its cookies are removed.
